(Dubai, November 20, 2023) – Somalia’s Minister of Communication and Technology, H.E. Jama Khalif, along with the General Manager of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Mr Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, his deputy, Mr. Ahmed Salad, and Advisors, are participating in the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23), which opened today in Dubai.
The conference, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), provides a platform for countries to come together and discuss and analyze the efficient utilization of the radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits.
Speaking about the significance of Somalia’s presence at WRC-23, the General Manager of the National Communications Authority (NCA) remarked, “By participating in the World Radiocommunication Conference, we have the opportunity to voice our opinions, exchange knowledge, and contribute to shaping the future of spectrum management on a global scale.”
Minister Jama Khalif highlighted the significance of Somalia’s presence at WRC-23: “We are proud to represent Somalia at this conference. Our participation reflects our commitment to ensuring the efficient use of the radio-frequency spectrum, which is vital for the development and advancement of our nation. We look forward to collaborating with other nations and industry experts to address the challenges and opportunities in this field.”
