Submarine Fiber Optic Cable Landing Operators in Somalia to Submit Information

National Communications Authority (NCA) of Somalia is urging fiber optic cable landing operators in Somalia to submit the necessary information NCA needs for regulatory purposes.

The Submarine fiber optic cables are vital communication infrastructure in the digital age and critical to today’s fast-paced data driven economy. Somalia has four submarine cables (Eassy, Gulf2Africa, DARE and Peace) terminating at three cable landing stations across Somalia, namely Mogadishu, Berbera and Bosasso. In addition, several new submarine cables in the pipeline for rollout.

NCA, through its reference letter, urged the landing operators in Somalia, to submit the technical information required for regulatory compliance before January 20th, 2023.
