Mogadishu – April 4, 2021
The National Communications Authority Hay’adda Isgaarsiinta Qaranka (HIQ/NCA) has officially issued a Radio Frequency License to the airline company Halla Airlines, enabling the carrier to legally utilize radio frequency communications required for its aviation operations.
The license is a key regulatory requirement governing the use of radio spectrum in civil aviation and is essential for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient communication between aircraft and aviation control systems.
According to the Authority, the license will facilitate Halla Airlines’ access to essential communication services necessary for the smooth operation of its flights, while also ensuring compliance with national aviation communication standards and regulations set by the Somali Civil Aviation Authority Hay’adda Duulista Rayidka Soomaaliyeed (SCAA).
This development forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Somalia’s telecommunications regulatory framework and enhance the safety and efficiency of the country’s civil aviation sector.
The National Communications Authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting licensed operators and ensuring the safe and efficient use of Somalia’s radio frequency spectrum.
