Pursuant to provisions of Article 6 of the National Communications Law (Law No.005) of 2017, the National Communications Authority (NCA) of Somalia is mandated to monitor networks and telecommunication services, advise on tariffs, numbers, and upgrading telecommunication competition, as well as to facilitate the accessibility of services.
In view of this, the authority collects, analyzes, and publishes statistical data and ICT indicators to evaluate, monitor the performance and trends of the communications sector and understand the state of Somalia’s telecommunications industry.
According to the conditions of the respective license, and as per Article 16 of the National Communications Law of 2017, the telecom service providers are obligated to provide NCA with regular updates of data to conduct statistical and market analysis.
